I work as a researcher at the School for Translators and Interpreters of the University of Bologna at Forlė, Italy. Up until December 2003 I held a research contract for constructing corpus resources at the Department of Intercultural Studies on Translation, Languages and Cultures (
SITLeC) of the same University.
Research interests / Projects
- Corpora in language teaching and translation;
- Monolingual comparable corpora, parallel corpora;
- Construction of corpora from the web;
- Typical features of translated text (and automated methods to discover them);
- Applications of NLP and machine learning to language education and translation studies;
- Development of corpora and simple tools to explore them;
- Computer-aided translation tools and methodologies
